Our National Park Service Recognition for Volunteer Service, May 2018

In May 2018 National Park Service recognized the Valley Forge Black Pots as one of the top groups that contributed the highest number of volunteer hours at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site.

Without our group’s help, and the help of the more than 200 other volunteers, it would be very difficult for the National Park Service to protect the park’s resources while providing opportunities for the enjoyment of those resources by the thousands of visitors who come to Hopewell each year.

We are thankful that we are hosted by the National Park Service and that we are able to share the history and enjoyment of cooking outdoors in Dutch Ovens.
