Easy Beer Bread

Cook Time: 50 minutes


  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 12oz beer (1 can)


  1. Combine flour sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Mix in beer
  3. Pour into 10" Dutch oven.
  4. Bake at 350F for 50 minutes.


The fist time try starting out with an inexpensive non-light beer. After you get comfortable with the recipe experiment with other types such as stronger lagers or whatever seems interesting.

Heat control: 14 briquettes on top and 7 on the bottom. If you want to bake it a bit slower and longer remove a briquette from the top and bottom. That will give you somewhere around 300 in a 10" Dutch oven.
