2018 Dutch Oven Cooking Year in Review

2018 was a busy and exciting year for the Valley Forge Black Pots.  We were recognized by the National Park Service for our volunteer efforts at Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, held Monthly Dutch Oven Gatherings from April – October, participated in the East Coast Dutch Oven Gathering in September, and also demonstrated Dutch Oven cooking skills and techniques for several area events, including at the Berks County Heritage Center, the Mill at Anselma, Bethany Presbyterian Church, and the Daniel Boone Homestead.

Stay tuned for updates to our calendar for next year.  Feel free to explore our website and to consider joining our special community dedicated to preserving and enjoying the tradition of cooking outdoors in cast iron.  Participation is free.

You don’t need to be an “expert chef” to join us.  We are comprised of people of various ages and skill levels who simply share our joy of cooking in cast iron outdoors.  We are all learning together.
